Natural Molecules Worth Studying

Exploring the Volatile Spectrum

While synthetic chemistry has focused on developing broad-spectrum chemical agents, botanical research reveals a world of targeted organic molecules. Compounds such as eugenol, thymol, and thujopsene possess remarkable spatial shielding capabilities that remain underutilised in modern pest control.

The OFF Project laboratory team is dedicated to analysing these minor botanical fractions. By mapping their evaporation rates and receptor interaction profiles, we aim to design the next generation of safe, long-lasting spatial barriers.

The Evaporation Profile

One of the primary challenges in botanical formulation is managing volatility. Natural essential oils evaporate quickly when exposed to air. Through our research into slow-release organic emulsions, we are developing methods to anchor these molecules on the skin, extending their protective duration without synthetic additives.
